About Rob
I was born in CA, but grew up in Mesa, AZ. I consider both places home. Since I was a dramatic kid, I dabbled in singing and theatre in high school. In college, I changed majors five times before finally graduating from BYU with a degree in music dance and theatre. I forget the other majors. After graduation, I stayed to teach in the program and I have been teaching ever since.
I moved to LA and taught at the Adderley School, started a voice studio, moved to Vegas, performed for 18 months in Spamalot, moved back, did a few shows, worked at the Apple Store,
taught more lessons, you get it.
I was invited to Utah in 2012 to teach at UVU and help develop its musical theatre program. I started directing. I finished an MFA in Theatre Directing from University of Idaho. I keep directing and I keep teaching. I currently teach for the MDT program at Brigham Young University.
I am a certified instructor with the
Institute of Vocal Advancement.
I am definitely a family man and when not teaching or making a show I am with them.
They make it all worth-while.
I won’t bore you with a list of productions, but I will update the current highlights.
